Commenting on the independent inquiry into the killing of a man by a mentally ill patient, Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, Sandra Gidley MP said: "This case is a shocking consequence of the Government's failure to prioritise the effective treatment of people with mental health problems.
"All around the country mental health trusts are having to make cuts due to the Government's financial mismanagement of the NHS.
"We must urgently look at what kind of impact any mental health service cuts are having on standard of care of patients."
