SANDRA SEEKS SUPPORT FOR MOONWALK

3.15.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 8th May 2008

Local MP Sandra Gidley will be joining almost 15,000 women and men taking to the streets of London on 17th May to do the Moonwalk in support of Walk the Walk's campaign against breast cancer - in bras!

With the event now only days away, Sandra is seeking sponsorship to help support breast cancer charities. The Moonwalk is now in its 11th year, and has seen more than 120,000 people take part to raise money in support of breast cancer charities, all wearing bras - Walk the Walk's unique trademark. Sandra will be joined by her Liberal Democrat colleagues Jo Swinson MP and Julia Goldsworthy MP as part of a cross-party team that includes former minister Patricia Hewitt.

Commenting, Sandra said:

"Every year nearly 44,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. Like many others, I know people who have lost friends and family members to breast cancer.

"I'm delighted to be taking part in an event that helps such a worthy cause.

"All support is welcome, and It would be great if people would sponsor me, and donate money to this cause."
